Help Taylor Smith Achieve Her Social Work Dream

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Taylor Smith, and I’m reaching out with a heart full of hope and humility to ask for your support in helping me achieve my dream of becoming a licensed clinical social worker. I am currently a graduate student at Howard University, pursuing my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree, with a concentration in trauma and women’s issues. Education has always been my lifeline, and I’m determined to complete my degree so I can continue making a difference in my community—but I need your help.

As the youngest of 10 siblings and a first-generation college student, I have worked tirelessly to overcome financial challenges and obstacles to reach this point. Despite limited resources, I’ve persevered, graduating with honors from Benedict College in 2024 and now pursuing graduate studies at Howard University. I’ve poured my heart into my education because I know the power it holds to not only transform my life but also to equip me to help others heal, thrive, and overcome.

Currently, I am facing a financial hurdle that is preventing me from registering for my second-to-last semester. I owe $7962.95 for my Fall 2024 semester balance, and without clearing this amount, I won’t be able to move forward.

Social work is my calling. I have a passion for working with underserved populations, particularly African American women dealing with generalized anxiety, trauma, and systemic oppression. My dream is to provide culturally competent therapy, dismantle barriers in the justice system, and advocate for prison reform. Through my work, I want to spread hope, healing, and joy to those who need it most.

With your support, I can stay on track to graduate and continue this mission. Every dollar brings me one step closer to my goal, and your generosity will not only help me finish my education but also impact countless lives through the work I’ll do as a social worker.

If you’re unable to donate, I completely understand, but sharing this campaign with your network would mean the world to me. Thank you for believing in me and being part of this journey. Together, we can make this dream a reality!

I am looking to re-enroll Fall of 2025

With gratitude,
Taylor Smith
