Help Taylor Relocate for Better Care
Donation protected
Hello Everyone.
First, I would like to thank everyone for the outpouring support during our last fundraiser. We were able to get Taylor to North Carolina and closer to us.
Taylor has made HUGE milestones in the last few months. He is awake. He is able to track movement with his eyes. He looks at you when you call his name. HE IS EATING! And it looks like we are our way to getting his trach taken out as well as his feeding tube. This is all very exciting!
I wish I could say that all I have is good news but I don’t.
When Taylor was sent to the facility here, it was downhill from day 1. This place was clearly not able to care for someone in Taylor’s condition.
On June 3, 2024, our mom decided to go check on him because she had a gut feeling something was wrong. When she got to the facility, it looked like buckets of water had been poured on Taylor. In reality, that was his sweat. Eventually, my mom found out he was running a fever of 102 as well as bright green secretions coming out of his trach. Our mom forced the facility to send Taylor to the hospital here in North Carolina.
Once admitted into the hospital, it was brought to our attention that he had a respiratory infection and a severe UTI. All due to negligence of the facility. Taylor is STILL here in the hospital.
The facility knew that they messed up so they decided to discharge Taylor. Which put us back at square 1.
After looking for multiple places here in North Carolina, Taylor has not been accepted anywhere.
That’s when Case management said we needed to open our mind to out-of-state placement.
Long story short, Taylor’s being transferred to a facility in New Jersey. That means me and my family have to relocate to New Jersey on short notice. Taylor is being transferred August 16, 2024.
The good news is that Taylor was accepted to MULTIPLE places in Jersey, so we will ALWAYS have options.
We need help with the moving costs so we can be by Taylor’s side so he can keep improving.
The facility does not allow anyone to stay with Taylor overnight or live with him. So the only way we can truly make sure he gets the care he needs is to relocate there.
Every penny counts.
