Help Taylor Recover After Cyclone Disaster
Donation protected
Hello everyone. We have a fellow small businessman and family man that needs our sincere help. His name is Taylor Peck. He is a fellow marine contractor specializing in residential dredge work here on the Northeast Coast. He moved here to Jax Beach last year and put every dime he had into this business. He is an owner-operator. He has worked so hard and finally started to get booked out.
Last week's high winds and storms produced a cyclone wind on the ICW around Marsh Landing Harbor. Taylor was traveling north and was hit by one of these. It flipped his entire barge with tools and excavator over in the ICW. He didn’t sustain horrible injuries but did spend a day in the hospital with hypothermia. Now he is having to deal with the aftermath.
After reading what you have read so far, you’re probably asking yourself, “What about insurance?” That’s a good question. The answer “have you ever made an insurance claim and gotten the money the next day or week or even that month”? There may be some coverage down the line when everything has been salvaged, but in the meantime, he is being relentlessly hassled by the bureaucracy of the United States Coast Guard and FWC. They are wanting the excavator recovered off the bottom immediately and are threatening him with fines until he does so. He needs help now!! His barge is still floating upside down. He braved the weather the other day and, with help from friends and was able to drag it out of the middle of the channel.
As we speak, he is out there in this bad weather, changing the batteries in the strobe light until he can find a way to get it flipped back over and pulled to the marina. He has literally been put out of business overnight through no fault of his own. Taylor is a very experienced captain and a very cautious person. These kinds of things just don’t happen, but they do, and now you’re reading about it.
Right now he needs a miracle. He has bills just like all of us on top of all these new expenditures to recover and salvage his equipment. Taylor and his wife recently had a new baby. They need help more than ever right now, and it is my prayer that this will be shared and as many people as possible will donate to help this family recover as quickly as possible.
If you could find it in your heart to donate as much as you can without hurting yourself, Taylor and his family, along with myself, would very much appreciate it. Thank you for your kind consideration.
