Help Taylor & Jess Rebuild After Flood

Hello Everyone,

My name is Sharon and I’m reaching out on behalf of my nephew, Taylor, his wife, Jess and their pups, Leo and B who were devastated by a flood in New Berlin, Wisconsin on August 9th-10th. They were just married in 2023 and recently moved into their very first home together, making this especially heartbreaking.

The damage to their home has been crushing. Sewage water rose above their knees, destroying everything in their basement. All of their furniture, appliances, computer equipment, furnace, tools, priceless mementos, and family photos were lost. The most painful part was the loss of family keepsakes and memories, as they are irreplaceable. They had saved and budgeted carefully for this home, only to see so much taken from them overnight.

What was once their safe and happy home is now a wreck. Their dogs, who are afraid of storms, were hiding in the basement as the water was rising. The repairs will be extensive and expensive. Taylor and Jess are both extremely hard working people who live within their means and prioritize what they need, not want. They are two of the kindest people you could ever meet. Unfortunately, their insurance does not cover anything damaged in the flooding and, with colder months coming, being without a furnace makes their situation even more urgent.

Donations will go toward replacing their furnace, washer and dryer, freezer, furniture, computer, tools and more. They also need to replace flooring that they just had sealed because of asbestos.
