If you know Taylor, you know she is a beloved sister, daughter, and devoted friend. She is an employee and a dog mom to her boy, chunk. She is hard working, compassionate, warm, and joyful.
Days before her 28th birthday, Taylor was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. The cancer is hydro grade, meaning it is aggressive. This diagnosis was shocking to Taylor as well as to her friends and family, to say the least. After moving to california for a fresh start and to focus on her recovery, a medical diagnosis of this significance was the last thing she could have predicted. She is in the hands of a proactive and capable team of doctors, and those of us who know and love taylor know that she will make it through this. She is strong. She is a fighter. Throughout the events following the diagnosis, her strength has been tested, but she has not wavered.
Her treatment plan consists of a leave from employment for an indefinite amount of time, starting with IVF therapy for a chance at motherhood when this is all behind her. She will undergo 5 months of chemotherapy and a double mastectomy at the end of chemo, with possibility for radiation therapy after surgery. This fundraiser is for friends and family who want to help, or anyone who Taylor has made a positive impact on. There are many.
Taylor is fortunate to have excellent medical insurance. But costs related to the frequency recommended for chemo, treatments that could allow her to become a mother in the future, and the surgery will add up to far more than Taylor can afford on her own. Even with help from her family, who are doing all they can, Taylor is facing a large shortfall. Those of us who love her came together to create this fundraiser to help with any medical and living costs that exceed her available resources. If funds remain after those costs are paid, they will be donated to the cancer research team at Hoag hospital in Orange County, where Taylor is being treated.
