Help Taylor afford top surgery!

I'm Caiten, Taylor's friend and former housemate, raising funds on their behalf so they can afford the gender-affirming care they deserve.

Taylor has been considering top surgery for years, but has had to delay or cancel their plans multiple times because of circumstances. Even with insurance that will cover gender-affirming care, top surgery can cost thousands of dollars.

Taylor denied themself the care they wanted for years to prioritize building a life and career in Portland. Last Christmas, they decided they had waited long enough. I am overjoyed that they are finally able to take this next step in their journey, but in doing so will drain their savings entirely.

The estimated cost of the surgery is $5,744.39. The physical demands of their job as a dog trainer means they risk injury if they go back to work before they are healed, which can take up to 8 weeks. Taylor is spending their life savings in order to get the treatment and afford living without pay for at least a month.

Taylor was living with me when I underwent top surgery two years ago. They have been a steadfast supporter in my own struggles with gender dysphoria, and were endlessly encouraging and helpful as I navigated the medical process. Incredibly, the entire procedure cost was covered by my insurance, and I had a work-from-home job that I could return to after a week of healing.

I was so, so lucky and privileged to have so much support for my surgery -financially, emotionally, and physically. I have never felt as much happiness and gratitude as when I got home after the procedure that night.
