Hello everyone! My name is Tayler Simons, and I am raising money to help cover medical school expenses. To give you a little insight on how my journey began, it started when I was a mere chicklet watching surgical documentaries on TV. I remember observing the doctors on the screen and thinking, "yeah, that's going to be me!" Although I believed this was my calling from the start, I didn't know if I could get there. You might ask, "well, why not?" The answer to this question is straightforward; I was raised in AZ, where I had never seen a black doctor, let alone a female doctor, so I would ask myself, "Is this possible?" As you can see from this fundraiser, IT IS POSSIBLE! But getting into medical school didn't come easy. I applied twice before I was accepted. I was devastated and discouraged when I didn't get in the first time, but I knew I couldn't give up. So I buckled down and did it all over again, and "whoop, there it is," I received an acceptance. Now that I am finally going to medical school and about to start my journey to become an OB/GYN, I am ecstatic and, unfortunately, broke (might sound funny, but it's true). This fundraiser will help me matriculate into medical school with one less stressor.
