Taya has been a beloved member of our family for 13 years. We rescued her as a puppy when I was in 7th grade, during a time when I was struggling with bullying at school. Taya quickly became my best friend and constant companion, always there to greet me with her wagging tail and comforting presence after a tough day. Over the years, she has brought so much joy and love into our lives, not just for me but also for my mom, especially as I moved away to college and after we lost our other dog to lymphoma in 2019.

Taya is a smart and gentle mixed breed who loves puzzle toys and playing with her kong. While she used to enjoy running and chasing balls, her age and some knee arthritis have slowed her down, but her spirit remains strong. Earlier this year, Taya began having occasional bloody noses, which have become more frequent and severe, even leading to an emergency room visit. After thorough testing, she was diagnosed with an aggressive nasal carcinoma. Surgery isn’t an option due to the tumor’s location and size, so we are pursuing radiation therapy at CSU with the radiation oncology team. This treatment offers the best chance to shrink the tumor, stop growth and stop the bleeding, giving Taya a better quality of life and hopefully extending her time with us as well.

We are raising funds to help cover the cost of Taya’s radiation therapy, which is a significant financial challenge for our family. Any support will go directly toward her treatments and care, giving us hope for more happy moments with our sweet girl. Taya has given us so much love and comfort over the years, and we want to do everything we can to help her feel better and enjoy more time with us.
