Fundraising Appeal: Help Tawanda, a Brave Young Boy, have a Home and Get Back to School.

Who is Tawanda?

Tawanda is a 13-year-old boy from Zimbabwe who has endured unimaginable hardships at a tender age. He lost his mother at the age of 3 and has been solely raised by his devoted father who is currently unemployed and struggling to make ends meet. Tawanda was only able to attend school up to Grade 2 (8years)

What Happened?

Tawanda’s life changed drastically when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. This devastating condition not only halted his education but caused severe, physical and emotional suffering in his life. To make matters worse their house was destroyed by fire leaving Tawanda and his father homeless. They now live in an abandoned unsafe building further endangering Tawanda's frail health, making their daily life more difficult and miserable.

With the help from donors Tawanda managed to undergo 2surgeries to remove the Tumour, while lifesaving the procedures have left him in need of ongoing care and support.

Why We need help

We would want to build a stable home for Tawanda and his father to enable them live a better life. It has always been Tawanda’s wish to attend school like any other child who has dreams of a bright future. We would want to grant him his wish by enrolling him in a good school with high care as he is a child who needs special attention to navigate considering his condition.

Tawanda’s father is unemployed and has been doing everything he can—but still he cannot afford the costs of:

• Getting a stable house to stay

• Tawanda's costs of returning to school

• Post-surgery medical treatments

• Daily necessities (food, clothing, hygiene)
