Help Tavis and Family Honor Jane's Legacy
Donation protected
Hi All
My name is Scott Penticoff and I have known Tavis most of my life, and consider him my brother. To say Tavis is one of the most loving, dedicated, and honorable men I know barely scratches the surface of the incredible man he is. As you know, Jane and Tavis shared an incredible love story that, though cut short by time, held within it a lifetime's worth of love. Living with the challenges and sacrifices that MS brings is difficult, yet Jane and Tavis navigated it with grace. Those who knew Jane experienced the compassion she embodied, a quality Tavis beautifully recognized: she lived a life of giving to others without asking anything in return. Now, as Tavis and her children, Emily and Elliot, navigate profound grief, they also face the financial burden of memorial and other expenses. Tavis and Jane's network of friends runs deep, and I know the family could truly use your help to lessen this financial burden. Any contribution you can make will be deeply appreciated. Please share this with others who knew and loved Jane and Tavis; your willingness to spread the word will be invaluable. Thank you in advance, and please keep Tavis, Emily, and Elliot in your prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
Their love story in Tavis' words:
On Sunday morning, May 4th, I lost my life partner, Jane Gould. Jane had been living with MS for 24 years. Over the past few months, her symptoms worsened, and in recent weeks, she began experiencing seizures that briefly took away her ability to speak. This past week, they became more frequent and severe, and on Sunday, she passed away peacefully.
I am at a loss for words. I lost my best friend. The love of my life. Heartbroken.
Jane was truly one of a kind. No matter how much pain she was in, she always had a smile for others and an incredible gift for connecting with people. I often called it her superpower.
She was a devoted mother who rarely missed one of their soccer games, no matter the weather. Before going on disability, she taught middle school English literature and deeply cared for every one of her students.
Yoga was her passion. Even after becoming wheelchair-bound, she found strength and purpose through Mind Body Solutions, where she taught a Sunday morning class to an international community of yogis with disabilities. It meant the world to her.
Jane lived with incredible grace and courage. Her spirit, strength, and love touched everyone she met. She was a gift to us all.
A memorial will be held in the coming weeks near her family’s home in England, and we’ll be celebrating her life here in Northern California later this summer or early fall. I’ll share details as we finalize them.
