Hello everyone,

My name is Tavonga and I come from Zimbabwe, a country known for its resilience and spirit. I’m currently pursuing my dream of becoming a professional pilot here in South Florida. Aviation captured me from childhood and now I’m just a step away from achieving that dream.

I have already completed a significant portion of my training - thanks to my dad who gave everything and my community that has carried me. Because of our country’s broken economy, my father’s hard work comes up short. Between debts owed to him not being honoured, and my immigration status not permitting me to work or seek loans, my tuition has become rather daunting. I find myself facing the final hurdle of securing $20,000 for the completion of my course which will enable me to become a commercial pilot.

Growing up in Zimbabwe, I’ve witnessed the transformative power of perseverance and determination. I want better for my people. Especially our youth, and aspiring aviators, who only dream of being international representatives in our skies. My hope is to inspire, assist, and open doors for others from similar backgrounds to pursue careers in aviation.

The funds raised will cover tuition fees, flight hours and crucial certification required to graduate from the program by the end of 2024.
