Hi! My name is Tatum, and I am a teen cancer survivor. I was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare bone cancer, at 15 years old. This cancer caused me to endure almost one year of chemotherapy and an invasive surgery. The chemotherapy that was given to me is some of the worst kinds for women’s fertility, leaving me with signs of infertility starting at 16. I am now 18 years old and have used this past year to take action to better my chances of being a mom in the future. My biggest dream in life is to become a mom, and when I found out cancer may have taken this from me, I was devastated.
I have done 3 rounds of egg freezing to try to preserve any eggs I have left that were not killed from chemo. I only froze 1 my first round, then 6, then 9 (which is an amazing number for my situation)!
My goal with this fundraiser is to raise money for a 4th cycle, with the hopes of achieving 20 eggs total frozen for my future. The tricky thing is, my insurance only covers 3 cycles per lifetime. Being an 18-year-old who is going into college, I don’t have much money of my own to make this happen.
Like I said, my biggest dream in life is to become a mother. A goal total of 20 eggs would give me about a 90% chance of that happening. I appreciate everyone who learned my story, and shared or donated to help this happen for me. ANYTHING helps. Thank you so much!
ALL FUNDS with go towards:
•Medications
•Procedure costs (egg retrieval)
•Monitoring appointments
•Bloodwork and ultrasound
•Travel costs (my fertility clinic is 2 hours away)
I saved a decent amount of medication from my previous cycles to hopefully get me almost entirely through this one, so funds will mainly go towards appointments and monitoring, as well as the actual egg retrieval procedure.
Thank you for everything!
