Help Tater's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
UPDATE: November, 2024
After the original incident, Tater has recently experienced more medical challenges to his poor doggy digestive system. He is receiving great care at home and at the vet; but, of course, expert veterinary support comes with a steep price tag. Thank you to all who have donated so far, and please continue to keep Tater in your thoughts!

Hello, everyone! My name is Amanda. I want to tell you a little about my colleague and friend, Krista, and ask you to consider helping her sweet canine family member, Tater.
I first met Krista in 2021 when she began volunteering at the agency where I work. Because we serve individuals, families, and communities experiencing crises related to domestic violence and sexual assault, the role of our volunteer Advocates is not an easy one! During their shifts, they may hear from callers, at all hours, facing emergency situations. Krista was always there to respond with compassion and professionalism-- all while balancing a job, parenting and family obligations, and getting a college degree!
That is why we were so grateful to welcome Krista as a full-time employee after she graduated in 2022. In every role she has occupied, Krista has brought her best, most authentic self. She connects with her participants on a human level, walking beside them as they navigate some of the hardest challenges someone can endure. Krista is truly "a rock" for survivors.
On top of that, Krista is a much-loved mom, daughter, and friend. She is an avid reader, baker, nature-explorer, and (I think this is the most impressive!) a talented aerialist. Anyone who knows Krista knows she is very devoted to her family. And one member of that family is Tater!

Tater is a year-old Basset Hound, and is the cutest, wrinkliest, jowliest boy imaginable with the best floppy ears! You can't look at him and not smile. Pictures and videos of Tater have brightened many of my days!

Unfortunately, Tater, being his rascally adolescent self, got into some mischief and is now undergoing surgery for a bowel obstruction. He is receiving great care, and has an amazing family who will continue to meet his needs, and give lots of cuddles, through his recovery.

The fundraiser goal will cover the cost of the surgery, and any extra will be used to help with everyday expenses for Krista, who, because of her dedication to non-profit work, already has to stretch her resources.

Thank you for your support in any amount. If Tater was here, he would "a-wooooo!" for you!
