This is my uncle Tate. Tate Nuttelmann was diagnosed with a spinal cord injury, in 2018 he had a cage and 2rods put in his back. In May 2021 he started having numbness and tingling in left hand 3 fingers. By July it was in both hands arms and legs. He started experiencing more severe problems with walking, muscle wasting, brain fog or forgetfulness. Doctors did testing and found he has 3 levels of spinal cord bruising or injury/scarring. They have tested for MS, NMO, lupus, and every other autoimmune disease and no answers. In April 2023 they decided to do cervical surgery and put a cage and rods in his neck to see if that helped pain and problems. He was actually feeling a little better until 2weeks later he got up in middle of night to go to bathroom and he missed a step and ran his head into a wall. He was instantly paralyzed for couple of days. Since that time he has not been able to work most days he starts his day with a cane to help walk and takes a lot of meds to be able to get going and move.
He has been denied SS disability first time they said you don’t go to the doctor enough and you are healed and can work . Second time they said yes he has disability but can do something for work. He had been denied Medicaid and food assistance, his wife works and they have 2 kids and have lost their house and car. They are currently living with my grandparents but Tate needs to be seen by Doctors at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester to get any further help. After seeing so many Doctors and them telling him they don’t know what’s wrong, he finally found one that listened. He has to leave Omaha to go to Rochester May 4th and starts testing May 5th on his birthday. They are also now being evicted from their home so any funds with also help with new housing! Anything helps!!
