I am a musician, a performer, a survivor, a dedicated learner, and a recent Magna Cum Laude graduate of Santa Clara University where I was honored with the Arrigo and Caterina Descalzi Prize for “artistic growth and dedication to the art of music” by the faculty of SCU’s music department in my final term.
I currently lack stable long term housing and employment. Acquiring a car would help me remain near my support system. Due to worsening chronic illness, traveling by public transit has become increasingly unsafe for me. Your support in keeping me near my friends, family, and doctors will sustain me through 2025 and beyond. It will open up options for in-person employment; right now only remote work is truly accessible for me.
I feel isolated, sad, and scared without a reliable way to get places. A few weeks ago I took the bus to and from my local library. By the time I got home I was so sick from the heat that I fell walking up the stairs. I gradually crawled my way over to electrolytes and water in order to be able to stand. This was really scary for me and left me feeling hopeless about my inability to safely leave the house.
I humbly ask for your help, while honoring your own capacity, in making these situations fewer and further between.
I deeply appreciate all financial support and help spreading the word. I also would be grateful for connections with community members who might be looking to pass on/sell an extra car they have and no longer need, either manual or automatic transmission.
Note on funds:
Your funds will be handled by my friend. I cannot hold that much money in my bank account due to SSI asset caps. I am however permitted by social security to acquire the car from my friend once it has been purchased.
