Help Tasha through upcoming surgery
To know Tasha is to know what true friendship and love feel like. In the 14 years I've known her, she's been fiercely loyal and drops everything to even just lend an ear if I need one. Anyone that knows her would say the same thing.
She's artistic, thoughtful and the strongest person emotionally that I've ever met. But Tasha is also incredibly self-sufficient and independent which is why I'm here now.
You see, for almost 2 years now, Tasha has been battling some known and unknown medical issues that have financially crippled a girl who before this had a sizeable savings and 401k that have been completely wiped out due to a battery of ongoing tests to get to the bottom of whats going on.
Her symptoms (vomiting, dizziness, lightheadedness, extreme fatigue, anaphylaxis) have been so debilitating, that despite starting a new job this year, she's in danger of losing it due to being unable to work. Basically, I've watched my best friend, my soul sister, fade into a shell of her former self and it breaks my heart.
We thought a diagnosis of Hashimoto's disease was the answer, but normal labs prevent any treatment via medication.
We thought an abnormal thyroid ultrasound and biopsy on a concerning nodule would provide answers, it was benign. (A recent cardiac CT uncovered more nodules have developed on her thyroid and a functional adrenal nodule - no explanation from any doctors as to how or why such a dramatic change since the original ultrasound)
G.I. tests show definite inflammation, but no root cause. We must wait for a second opinion... in January... 2022.
To make matters even more dire, during the onslaught of tests, appointments with her doctor and an unbelievable amount of specialists, an ascending aortic aneurysm and bicuspid aortic valve was discovered in her heart. That discovery has led to being scheduled for open heart surgery in the next few weeks.
This, while absolutely terrifying, doesn't answer all the questions as to why she has experienced all the awful symptoms she has recently, but it is a start.
As you can imagine, having spent her entire savings on medical bills for all the tests and appointments that got her to this discovery, her lost wages from having to go to these tests and appointments, leaves her in a tough spot for this upcoming surgery.
I realize the pandemic has been tough on a lot of people medically and financially, so I'm asking if you can spare even a couple of bucks to help a girl who wouldn't hesitate to do the same for anyone else, it would be greatly appreciated.
My hope is to help ease what I'm sure will be a massive medical bill and to help her with basic essentials as she recovers and gets back on her feet.
