Help Tasha Recover From Spinal Surgery
Hello Everyone,
Our beloved friend and community leader, Tasha, is recovering from spinal surgery and needs our support to cover some costs of lost wages, medical expenses, rent, food, and car repairs (which will be necessary for transportation since she will be off the bike for the next 3-6 months). For many years, she has been an active member of our community through raising funds for Cycles of Change, helping advocate for and creating inclusive riding/racing spaces for WTF riders in the Bay Area, speaking out to USAC about gender based exclusion, as well as provided race coaching and support for folks who might not otherwise have access, and going above and beyond for each and every one of us. On top of all this, she is also a wonderful social media coordinator and contributing teammate with Eclipse Racing (a bay area WTF racing team). I would also like to include some words that other's have shared with me on Tasha's behalf:
"I met Tasha by attending a WTF cyclist Zoom during lockdown. The things that immediately stood out to me were her infectious smile, her passionate expression and her genuine welcoming of new faces in the group. I often feel out of place and Tasha helped to make me feel at ease. But more so, Tasha fights the good fight! She uplifts the WTF riders in her community and abroad, she speaks up when the community is wronged and, with her advocacy, she has laid a foundation for those that will come after her. And she is a BEAST on the bike! I hope now the community can give back to Tasha and get her back on the bike by supporting her through her recovery!"
"Tasha is a great friend to me. When I moved out to the Bay Area she was one of my first friends. She introduced me to a part of the cycling community I never really knew about and helped coach me into becoming a better cyclist. I know im not the only one that she has helped in this way, but she has become one of my most valued friends and I hope to see her back in events again to help all us newbies."
