On the night of this travesty, Tariq was riding his bicycle home from work on a day that he was not scheduled for, but was called in to cover for someone that did not show up. Diagnosed as neurodivergent Tariq is still the person his supervisor called because THAT is the type of reliable young man he is. But now because of a reckless driver who was in fact charged with DUI, Tariq's life will never be the same.

Though we are praying and believing for a supernatural recovery the reality is, after life-saving surgery removing the left side of his skull (which can only be replaced after the swelling of his brain goes down in 2-3 months), a fractured clavicle and countless other injuries along his body... we really don't know what the outcome will be.

What we do know is that it is estimated his recovery time as an in-patient can be anywhere between 4-6 weeks with in-home care required for many, many months thereafter. This is going to require his single mother to stretch her already limited emotional, financial and time resources.
