Hello, my name is Rosa Fuster (most people know me as Padi) and I live in Boulder Colorado. I have been in touch with a family of four in the north of Gaza: the couple Tariq and Raghda and their two children Islam (12) and Ahmed (10) are in need of help. Any amount helps. They need money to buy food and water and medication. Raghda, the wife (mother) suffers from a blood disease and she is in need of treatment. The goal is to be able to pay for the border fees once they open and save this family. The children are suffering a lot and their parents are desperate to get them out of Gaza.
I already have set up a way to get the money to them through amazing friends here in Colorado, in Cairo and in Gaza.
These are Islam and Ahmed (the children) when they saw that there was nothing left of their house.
Their house was completely destroyed by one of the many bomb attacks by Israel. Below you can see a photo of where once their house was and now it is all rumble. You can also see the only remains of one of the bedrooms on the photos below.
In Raghda's own words:
"Before the war, I was suffering from a chronic blood disease, a genetic defect in the bone marrow. I need constant follow-ups and I was being treated for more than $200 a month. My husband worked in the sewing field and we had a happy and dignified life.
When the war came, my house was destroyed, my husband lost his job and we were displaced to a shelter center. My children are going through a very difficult psychological situation as they witnessed their cousins and their friends being killed in front of their eyes, living with horror and fear. Also my mental health condition is deteriorating day by day.
We were living in a clean environment and eating well and we have lost everything in this war. There is no food and we are drinking polluted water. I need help to complete my treatment outside of Gaza and save my children. "
