Hello i am Gamble, and this is Taranis.

Taranis is currently 3 months old and is in need of some very serious vet care. When he was given to me I was told he had a heart murmur. My girlfriend just had open heart surgery recently, and i felt drawn to him. The vet told me he suspects Taranis has Patent Ductus Arteriosus or PDA, which is a heart defect that occurs when the ductus arteriosus does not close at birth. Which means He needs to see a cardiologist (apparently there are only 2 in Florida, which is probably why seeing one cost so much.) I read about PDA and left untreated the survival rate is 50% within the first year. The surgery however has a great success rate and can lead to normal life as long as it is caught before Congestive heart failure develops. I chose to go through University of Florida Vet Hospital as it is much more affordable than Blue Pearl. It is still $6,500 to get the diagnostic and surgery there.

So why do I need a go fund me? I am a United States Marine Corps veteran and I'm not used to asking for help. I help people, people don't help me. Taranis on the other hand is a sweet little boy that just needs a chance that I can't give him alone. I hope we can together.
