Help Tara Knutson Heal and Overcome Brain Cancer

If you've met Tara Knutson even once, you've probably been struck by her out-of-this world creativity, colorful sense of style, her gift for making everyone feel welcome and seen, and - above all else - her unending generosity toward friends, family, and anyone in need.

At the beginning of June, 2024, Tara suffered a grand mal seizure. Since then, it's been a whirlwind. Tara has learned that she has a brain tumor called a Glioblastoma, the most aggressive type of brain cancer.

She is scheduled for her third brain surgery – a craniotomy - on August 13, to remove the tumor and relieve pressure on her brain.

Tara will be out on disability soon, first to prepare for this third surgery. Then, after three to four weeks of recovery, she will begin her chemo and radiation journey. Medical expenses can be financially devastating, and this is the last thing Tara should be thinking about when we need all her positive energy focused on healing. ❤️‍

In classic Tara fashion, even as she's prepping for surgeries, she's been offering to help other folks with the things they need. But now, those of us who love her dearly are gently trying to bring the focus back to her. This is when she needs us.

For those of us who have received kindnesses, gifts, quirky and colorful hand-drawn letters in the mail featuring animals smoking pipes, invitations to 70's-era tennis-themed parties, back rubs, heart-to-heart talks, been the recipient of one of her many fundraisers to support others, and/or any of the other millions of ways Tara shows her devotion and love: we know you've been asking for ways you can show your support.

For those of you who don't know Tara quite as well, or who haven't kept up with her lately: if there's anyone who deserves a "pay it forward" gesture, it's this amazing person.

We are asking for your support in donating what you can to help Tara through this time. In addition to financial support, we appreciate all the love, good vibes, and magic healing laser beams sent from all to help her get back to creating art, serving as a social worker, spreading love, and bringing all that one-of-a-kind Tara-ness into this world.
