Help Tara Help Others!

When I see people in pain I want to do more to help.  And as a life and business coach, everyday I witness people suffering from stress, anxiety, depression, and limiting beliefs.

There is an epidemic of feeling that we aren’t enough and it’s causing beautiful humans, including kids and youth, to see themselves as less than. There has been a substantive rise in mental illness, depression, anxiety, auto-immune diseases, suicide, addiction and more. We are consumed with doing more, getting more, being more and I see how destructive these learned behaviors can be - especially because I experience them myself.

I wonder daily, what could the world be like if we were all taught how to self-regulate, come back to our breath and embrace the beauty and power of stillness?  How would we deal with conflict if we were taught empathy, compassion and how-to accurately identify and name our emotions ?

I continue to learn, read voraciously and take action around these questions because I know I am here to serve.  While my existing skills have gotten me this far, I know that if I had deeper knowledge, training and access to proven tools I could do more.

And that’s why I am fundraising for $3750 to pay for 50% of an educational program called Cultivating Emotional Balance  that is blessed by the Dalai Lama and led by Dr. Eve Ekman , Director of Training at the University of California Berkeley Greater Good Science Center . Eve’s trainings are based on emotional contemplation, awareness and teachings that benefit the welfare of others . I have researched many programs and believe this one to be the most effective in creating lasting change for people of all ages.  Eve is a wonderfully humble human who wants to pass down her knowledge to best serve humanity - she is a rare breed!  To create the program Eve had a team of renowned advisors including:

Richard Davidson, Ph.D., University of Wisconsin (specialty: brain and emotion)
Mark Greenberg, Ph.D., Penn State University (specialty: social-emotional intervention in schools)
Daniel Goleman, Ph.D. (specialty: emotional intelligence)
Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D. (specialty: mindfulness-based stress reduction)
John Teasdale, Ph.D. (specialty: combining cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness)
Joseph Goldstein (specialty: Buddhist meditation)

Lastly, along with her father, psychologist Dr. Paul Ekman and the Dalai Lama, Eve created The Atlas of Emotions   – a map to better understand ourselves and as the Dalai Lama said, “get us to the new world.”

I am so grateful to have been accepted into the program. I believe we can create a new world, one where empathy, kindness and mindfulness replace anxiety, fear, hate and self-loathing.  I have faith that if we better understand what we are feeling and teach compassion we could create a world with more commonality and less violence. I particularly want to work with youth and future leaders to shift the current consciousness away from self-motivated interests to empathic awareness, kindness and connectivity.

I would be so grateful and excited to share my learnings and try to make the world a better place.

As a thank you for individual donations I will host complimentary workshops and one-on-one sessions to share what I have learned. And for companies donating $250 or more I am offering complimentary group workshops and one-on-one leadership coaching sessions. Essentially, the more you donate, the more I give to you and your teams!

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to being of service to YOU!

Wholeheartedly,

Tara
