Meet Taquito!

A sweet, goofy little Chihuahua who’s been through more than any pup should. His former owners didn’t want him anymore and kicked him out, leaving him to fend for himself. For 1–2 weeks, Taquito was running the neighborhood alone until I found him on a walk with my own dogs and managed to catch him.

When I brought him home, he was covered in 23 ticks and fleas, skinny, and malnourished. I got him cleaned up, treated, and kept separate until he was safe. Despite everything, he’s shown nothing but sweetness and resilience.

Since then, I’ve taken him to the vet for a full checkup. He’s about a year old, now up-to-date on vaccines, and overall healthy, just in need of some TLC and proper nutrition (which he’s finally getting! His appetite has come back strong!). He’s even had his first pup cup and is starting to play and warm up to our dogs.

The next steps for Taquito are:

We can’t keep him permanently (we already have two dogs and insurance to cover), but I promised Taquito I’d make sure he gets his second chance.

I’ve covered his initial vet bills, treatments, food, and care, but I could really use some support with those + upcoming expenses. Every little bit helps, whether it’s $5, $10, or simply sharing this page so more people see it.
