Update 02/06 Taqui Taki was rescued by Ipawrescue and is now at the hospital in isolation being treated for his URI. We continue to raise funds to pay his stay at the hospital as well as the transportation for him to his adopter please continue sharing his story and donating please till we can get Taqui Taki to his forever home.

Update 02/03 Taqui Taki is NOT doing well per staff at MDAS. Taki will need to be seen at Knowles animal hospital ASAP and we had to boost his Gofundme so it can include vet treatment, boarding, and transport to his adopter located in New Jersey. Taki is having nasal discharge and needs to be placed on oxygen as per staff at MDAS. There is a HUGE URI outbreak at the shelter and this is his 2nd time contracting a URI in such little timing. He is a senior dog (9 years old). Please share/donate to take Taki healthy again to his New Jersey as his past owner that unfortunately passed away would’ve wanted for him. 02/01 Taqui Taki needs your help to go to his forever home. Taki once had a lovely owner who unfortunately passed away all of a sudden. Taki was found by animal control in the apartment of his passed owner, Leo . Leo loved and cared for Taki. Leo cooked daily meals for Taki. Taki doesn’t know or understand why he is in a shelter since November 2024. When we found out about Taki’s story, we knew we had to network this poor senior boy. We started networking Taki everywhere and sharing and tagging to an infamous amount of people. (We have been in communication with Leo’s family in Uruguay and a family friend that lives in Miami).

A WONDERFUL lady heard Taqui Taki's story and has been waiting for Taki to be transported to her by Miami Dade Animal Shelter. After countless emails we sent to them so they can transport Taki to the adopter, they agreed for Sunday, February 2nd. Now transport has been canceled at no fault of Taki's. Unfortunately, Taki caught a URI (upper respiratory infection), so he will not be transported to his forever home now.

We are afraid Taki is at risk to start declining in the shelter setting. As soon as we reach our goal to have Taki transported to his adopter, we will personally pull Taki and make sure this transport goes through. A wonderful family friend goes every week to visit Taki at the shelter, and that’s when we found out the bad news yesterday.
