Update #2! Tanner came home to be with us and rest! Pain management and healing are main priority right now. He will be going back to the vet weekly until he is stable enough for his surgery! He is such a fighter and lover despite the abuse he has endured! We won't stop fighting!
Update: We could not go through with the surgery as Little Tanner took a turn for the worse. We discovered he has septic arthritis in his "good leg" he has been recovering with extensive hospital care at Syracuse Animal Hospital in Syracuse IN. We think we MIGHT be able to save his dislocated leg but it will now require 2 possible surgeries. We are willing to fight as long as he is. Please pray for our sweet boy who has not known love until now.
A few days ago, a stray cat wandered into my mom’s yard in Auburn Crossing, looking for help. We have affectionately named him Tanner. He was in terrible condition, and at first, we thought he might have been hit by a car. My mom immediately took him to the vet, hoping for good news. Instead, we learned something heartbreaking: the vet found a bullet from a 22 gun lodged in his body, and the damage to his front shoulder was so severe that it can’t be saved.
Our hearts broke for Tanner, who has already suffered so much at the hands of humans. The vet told us his only options are to have his front leg amputated or to be put down. We refuse to let him down again. My mom and I are determined to give him a second chance at life, but the surgery is a lot for us to cover on our own.
We’re reaching out to our community for help. Every dollar raised will go directly to Tanner's surgery and urgent medical care. If you’re able to donate, share this fundraiser, or simply spread the word, you’ll be making a real difference for a cat who deserves kindness and a fresh start. Thank you for helping us show Tanner that people care.
