Help Tania fight breast cancer

Hello, I am Serena Rios and I am sharing my mom’s story. My mother, Tania Rios was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. If you know my mom, you know she is a strong and hard working woman. When we received the news, the first thing my mom told me is that it will be okay because she is strong and she is a fighter. Although this has been a very stressful time for our family, my mom has remained positive and courageous through it all. I know that everything will be okay, because somehow everything always works out for us. That being said, I am asking for support to help my mom pay for her surgery and medical bills.

My mom has been working for the school district for about 30 years now. She loves being around the students and helping others in any way she can. She started as a classroom aid, then transitioned to a special education paraeducator and is now working towards becoming a health clerk. She is truly one of the most hard working people you will ever meet. On top of that, she spends her time off work working for Doordash and UberEats to earn extra money to help pay for living expenses. Her recent diagnosis brought more financial strain than we ever thought and she has been working hard throughout it all to be able to pay for numerous doctor visits and exams.

Now, just days before her surgery, she received a call from the hospital that she is required to pay $5,000 now or the surgery will not happen. She will also have to pay an additional $5,000 in just a few months to pay for her reconstruction surgery upon recovery from her upcoming mastectomy. There is no way that any amount of extra work can allow her to be able to afford all of this.

As amazing and strong as my mother is, she should not have to hold this burden of so many medical expenses as she is trying to deal with her upcoming surgery and recovery. She has been working tirelessly every single day to be able to pay for medical and living expenses. Now, she has surgery coming up and it will be a lot more money than we had ever estimated. I am asking for any help that you can provide to help my mom pay for her surgeries and medical expenses. All of the money received will go directly towards her surgeries and medical bills.

Throughout all of the recent stress and hardship, my family has continued to stay strong and hopeful because we know that my mom is a fighter. She raised my 2 brothers and I to be strong and to keep fighting no matter how hard life hits us. My mom is someone who does not quit and who never gives up. She deserves the world and nothing less.
