Help a World #2 Junior Golfer Keep Her Dream Alive
My name is Nicha Thossansin…
and I am a mother trying not to break a promise to my daughter.
Her name is Tangtang Thossansin.
When she was just 4 and a half years old, she played her very first golf tournament in Thailand.
She shot 128 for 18 holes.
She didn’t win.
She didn’t even come close.
But she stood there quietly… watching another child receive a trophy.
Then she turned to me and said:
“Mom… one day, I want to stand there.”
That moment changed our lives forever.
From that day on, she practiced every single day.
No complaints. No excuses. No childhood distractions.
Just a little girl… chasing a dream bigger than herself.
By the age of 5 years and 10 months, she was already representing Thailand at the IMG Junior World Championship in San Diego.
Every year, we sacrificed everything to support her:
• Traveling from Thailand to the U.S.
• Paying for tournaments, training, and equipment
• Building our lives around her future
And she kept rising.
On March 18–20, 2021, something happened that no one expected.
At the PPTV Junior Tournament in Thailand, Tangtang didn’t just win…
She made history.
⛳ She finished the tournament at -32 under par in just 3 days
A score that broke the record in junior golf history.
She was only a child…
but in that moment, she proved she belonged on the world stage.
That performance qualified her to represent Thailand in the
World Star Tournament in Las Vegas, USA.
That was the moment we realized…
This dream was real.
In 2021, we made the hardest decision of our lives.
We left everything behind in Thailand.
My husband gave up his career as a university lecturer.
We used all our retirement savings.
We moved to the United States…
so our daughter could have a real chance to become a professional golfer.
We started a small business just to survive.
We believed in her dream with everything we had.
In 2025, Tangtang achieved what most young athletes can only dream of:
Utah Player of the Year
Ranked World #2 at just 10 years old
As a mother… I cried tears of pride.
Because I knew how much she had given up…
and how hard she had worked to get there.
But life… doesn’t always go as planned.
The business struggled.
By 2025, we had lost over $80,000.
And then… the moment I feared the most came.
In October 2025, my husband had a heart attack.
I remember holding his hand in the emergency room…
not knowing if he would survive.
Doctors placed 3 stents in his heart.
But they told me something I will never forget:
“He will need bypass surgery. The other arteries are blocked.”
In that moment… I felt like my world collapsed.
We lost our business.
We now carry over $30,000 in debt, with weekly payments we struggle to make.
I am working every day… just to survive.
But every night… I sit quietly and watch my daughter.
She still practices.
She still believes.
She still wakes up every day… chasing the same dream she had at 4 years old.
And I… I am the one who may have to tell her:
“We can’t afford it anymore.”
I cannot afford:
• Her Junior World tournaments
• Her travel to compete internationally
• Even a new set of iron clubs she needs to continue improving
And it breaks my heart…
Because she has done everything right.
She worked harder than most children ever will.
She made history.
She became one of the best in the world.
But now… her dream is at risk of ending—not because of her talent…
But because of us.
Every night, I pray.
With tears in my eyes… I ask God:
“Please… don’t let her dream end like this.”
If you are reading this…
I am not asking for sympathy.
I am asking for a chance.
A chance for my daughter to keep going.
A chance for her to stand on that stage… just like she dreamed.
Even the smallest support… can help us take one more step forward.
Please help Tangtang continue her journey.
Because sometimes…
A dream doesn’t fail because of lack of talent—
It fails because life becomes too heavy for a family to carry alone.
With all my heart,
Nicha Thossansin
