Taneka and Caede met in 2022 during the pandemic, and recently moved to Taree after taking a leap of faith moving away from their family, friends and jobs. Taree wasn’t their expected destination but they have grown to love their community and home, where they are raising their baby boy Levi. Taneka is a full-time mum which is a big financial sacrifice, therefore not being able to afford the cost of flood cover insurance like so many others.

After having nowhere to go whilst their home was flooding, they were forced to live in their car for 4 days with their 1 year old son and gorgeous bull mastiff. They have since been able to return to their home to assess the damage. Only to discover they have completely lost the foundations of their home at a minimum, alongside all essentials such as furniture, clothing, food, baby toys, etc. It’s financially uncertain as to where they will live and how they will rebuild their family home.

This beautiful young family are friends and are currently staying in my family home whilst they start the long journey to recover their damaged home. The absolute devastation is incomprehensible and if you’re in a position to donate at all it will be so appreciated by Taneka & Caede. Once the goal is hit, the funds will be sent to them to help them recover.
