Help Tanama Get to Hawaii

Hi, my name is Tanama Quiles-Torres! I am 16 years old, and I was born in Puerto Rico. With my dad being in the Navy, my family moved from a lot of different locations until we settled here in Georgia. I’ve met a lot of beautiful people, and made a lot of memories. I’ve been in the band for about 5 years now, switching from flute to bassoon and percussion.

This last year, a lot of trials have come up. With my complications with my brother’s health, to someone very important to me being diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, along with my own mental and physical health battles, it’s been a difficult seven months.

I find it difficult to ask for help, especially in the form of money, but this year, I alone am having to save up $3,500 in order to attend my band’s trip to Hawaii. This trip will give me the very rare opportunity to travel to a new place with the people that I love, and to display my passion of music for others. This is something that I do not want to miss out on because of a money issue. I believe that money should not keep anyone from achieving dreams or experiencing once in a lifetime memories.

I pray God is with every one of you, and that He gives me the courage to continue to ask for help in ways like this. I know that no matter what happens, everything will fall into place somehow because His hand falls on everything.
