Tamra is a widow and single mother of four beautiful children who has faced unimaginable challenges over the past few years. Before her husband’s tragic accident, her daughter Presleigh suffered an injury at a playground that led to avascular necrosis, a condition that deteriorated her hip ball. For three years, Presleigh has endured pain, relied on a wheelchair, and attended physical therapy three times a week. Now, she finally has the opportunity to receive a new hip at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville later this year, offering hope for a brighter future.
After losing her husband two years ago, Tamra’s youngest son, Waylon, began experiencing seizures. Doctors discovered that he had a traumatic brain injury undiagnosed from birth. The resulting swelling has caused fluid to accumulate into the top portion of his brain. The swelling of the brain is causing significant issues with self-control regulation and cognitive delays. At just six years old, Waylon suffers from significant, constant headaches, has unsteady balance, continued behavior issues, and no self-control or emotional control. He also has difficulty judging his actions, which puts him at risk. One way he can be helped is with regular spinal manipulations with a cranio-sacral therapist three times a week to safely remove the accumulating fluid and prevent further complications. Tamra is also seeking other options to help his condition.
The loss of her husband and the resulting loss of income has put Tamra’s home in jeopardy. She needs funding to purchase a reliable RV for her and her family to travel to Nashville in June and to live in while preparations are made for Presleigh to have her surgery and the therapy needed afterwards. Trying to stay in a hotel or Airbnb would be cost prohibitive. The funds will also help cover Waylon’s ongoing therapy needs, which are significant and not covered by insurance. The time frame of continued care is currently unknown. The funds will also provide living expenses for the six months they will be away. Tamra is a true believer in God and feels that God has led her to special medical personnel—first to the doctor at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in Nashville for Presleigh's hip, and then to the doctor in Sheridan, WY (and hopefully a specialist in Nashville) to help Waylon safely remove the spinal fluid from his brain. Two Bible verses are very dear to Tamra’s heart: Matthew 6:26: 'Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?' Jeremiah 29:11: 'For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.' In addition to financial donations, we are grateful for all prayers, believing that where two or three are gathered in God's name, He will be amongst us. Thank you.
