Help Tampa's WFB Team get to Nationals in Texas!

Hi! My name is Chiane, and I am the President and one of the Captains of The University of Tampa’s Women’s Flag Football Team. On behalf of the Football Team, we are asking for your help in fundraising to help cover the costs of going to NIRSA’s Nationals Women’s Flag Football Tournament held in Round Rock, Texas.

Tampa’s Women’s Flag Football Team was just started during the Fall semester of 2022. In less than 2 months, we have come together to transform a group of determined female athletes, for whom the majority have never played football, into a top-placing team competing in the Regionals Tournament and receiving a bid to the Nationals Tournament in Texas. As this is our inaugural season, it is a very big accomplishment for our girls as well as the University of Tampa to send a team to compete at the high level of NIRSA’s National Championship Tournament. Our team is a diverse group of females seeking to make a difference in the world of athletics as role models for young girls and boys.

As a women’s team in a male-dominated sport, it is very important for us to be able to give these girls opportunities to play the game. Not many teams get the opportunity to play at nationals, especially a team that started their program this semester. So, for our women’s flag football team to have a chance is pivotal to showing what skills we have to offer. This upcoming tournament, the school is not allowing any funding for the team, so creating a GoFundMe is crucial to being able to support the team. This is also an opportunity to represent the club sport program along with the University of Tampa as a whole. Along with other fundraising, we would love to be able to support the women’s flag football team throughout their travels.

We will be using these funds to support our team financially. This money will help our team immensely with all of the expenses that build up. Our school does not help us cover the hotel, travel, or meals. Your help will make our dreams come true and aid us to our first nationals!
