Help Tammy & Scott beat Cancer!
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Esther and I am starting this campaign to help my mom & stepdad with recent & upcoming medical costs. Please read the information below to learn about how they both found out they have cancer within 3 weeks of one another….
My mom, Tammy, has been battling a cough that has progressively gotten worse since January. She went to an Urgent Care in June where they took an X-ray of her lungs and saw she had signs of COPD. The Urgent Care sent her home with inhalers and she was told to report to a Pulmonologist if symptoms didn’t resolve. Well, unfortunately from there, her symptoms worsened. She lost her voice, and her lung capacity to breathe worsened.
She went to see a Pulmonologist who had her do a CT Scan of the lungs and on July 11th, after receiving the CT Scan results, she was sent to the ER for a mass found on her left lung. She was admitted to the hospital for 4 days and while there they ran more tests which showed she had a blood clot on her right lung and a mass on her left lung. On Friday, July 28th, she was called by the Dr who saw her in the hospital and she was told her mass is in fact cancerous and it is Adenocarcinoma.
Since before my moms hospital stay, her husband Scott has been complaining of numbness on his left side and he came home from work 3 weeks ago looking extremely disheveled. He woke the next morning very confused and appeared to be having stroke symptoms. After getting him to the hospital, it was said that he did have a mini stroke and after running tests, they found 4 different masses in his body. From there he went on to have 7 different mini strokes while in the hospital. He was released after a week to a physical/occupational/speech rehab hospital but after the biopsy results came back while in rehab he was sent by ambulance to another medical hospital nearby. Scott has been deemed to have Large B Cell Lymphoma and is still currently in the hospital.
My mom and Scott did not have insurance before August 1st. My moms 4 day hospital stay in July alone was $18k. And then Scott going to the hospital too, we know that amount has the potential to triple with all the appointments and treatments they will both need going forward.
We are all shocked by this news and those that know about the situation keep asking how they can help and honestly, I believe this is how. Please donate to ease their financial burden. They will not be bringing in an income for the foreseeable future. Please consider giving to help get them the treatment they’re going to need. To help them both be able to fight harder for their health and lives.
If giving isn’t an option we still very much covet and feel your prayers. Please don’t stop praying and keep them coming.
Thank you for caring for my mom Tammy & stepdad Scott at this time.
