On Sunday, December 14, 2025, a devastating two alarm fire broke out in the kitchen of Tammy Schlapfer’s home. The blaze quickly spread, causing severe fire, water, and smoke damage throughout the house. Tammy, a single mother of three children, and her close-knit family lost all of their belongings in the fire—just eleven days before Christmas. The loss has been overwhelming, leaving them without a place to call home and without the comforts and necessities they worked so hard to build together.

Tammy has dedicated many years as a support clerk at the Submarine Base New London, CT Commissary, always striving to provide for her family. Now, in the wake of this tragedy, she and her children are facing the challenge of starting over from scratch. The funds raised will help provide them with shelter, clothing, food, and the means to replace essential items lost in the fire. We also hope to bring a bit of hope and joy back to their holiday season by helping with Christmas gifts for the children.
