Well, I really thought I was gonna get it all worked out this month, but there's another hurdle: my bid for senior housing was denied. I am appealing it, but it's not likely to be resolved in the next 3 weeks - I have to move out of my current spot by June 30th.
Meanwhile, my storage is still in arrears; it's been months since I was able to pay and and now there's a lien against it. That may seem trivial, but it's not just "stuff" - it's a new start for when I do find long-term housing, and a lot less expensive than having to purchase all new items for a home: a bed, couch, shelving, pots and pans, mirrors, dining table and chairs, plus art books records and clothes (some of which I can sell to cover future costs), among other necessities and belongings. I am also going to need to stash the small amount of items from my current place. Plus, if it goes unpaid it will wreck my credit rating. So, it's worth rescuing.
I do, now, receive Social Security retirement funds - finally! the first payment came in a couple weeks ago - which is very good news because it means that I will eventually be able to stand on my own two feet. Sadly, it is too little, too late to keep my current housing, and U-Haul won't let me make payments (they insist the account be paid in full).
I'm asking for enough to cover the storage back rent, plus the fees for this platform, and a bit extra to help pay for short-term lodging in hostels while I keep working to line up permanent, affordable housing.
It crushes me to have to ask, and I hope I don't have to ever do it again. But I've tried everything I can think of, and this is a desperate plea.
I hope you can help.
Thank you!
