Tammie is known by many for her positive hard working attitiude in the operating room at Hoag Hospital. As not only her coworker but friend, It didn’t take long to realize what an extraordinary person she is, and soon after, I learned of the battle she’s been fighting with cancer. With the recent spread of the cancer, she’s had to take a leave from work and begin her chemo journey.

Tammie battled making dotor apointments onIy to come right back to work and finish the day strong. She never once asked for a lighter load, was willing to show up where ever she was needed to support the clinical staff. I saw her on days when she was upbeat and energetic, on days when she was tired, and on days when her circumstances left her frustrated. But no matter what she was facing, she was always there. She showed up through every good day and every hard one to care for the patients coming into the operating room.
