My name is Tammey Crabb and I live and volunteer my time in Kodiak, Alaska. I have come home to Kodiak after living in Washington for many years. I returned here to be healed by this island. I survived addiction, homelessness, and abuse. In recent years, I have rescued my disabled son from an abusive conservator. My current status is active SSI and I recently had spinal and cervical fusion surgery, after which the surgeon and I shared tears as he explained he was afraid he may not be able to save my life. My son and my dog are my world. On top of this fulfillment, I volunteer at our local reentry program. I pick up food from our food bank and distribute it.

When I left my tumultuous life in Washington, I got in my 2003 Suzuki Vitara and crossed Canada to reach Alaska with no money. I made it by the grace of God. I can't mechanic anymore. I can't keep it running much longer. If I don't manage to find a way to get a reliable vehicle, my ability to help my son and my community will be limited. It breaks my heart to see this car become obsolete as it saved my life, but there is a time I have to realize it is no longer safe to drive, and I must let it go. This ask is just that, a cry for help. I have no resources but I have drive, and with that, I reach out to anyone that can help. Thank you for your time and all that you do.
