Hi everyone! My name is TaMiah Garcia, and I’m a 19-year-old junior at South Carolina State University—a proud first-generation HBCU student pursuing my dream of a major in Psychology.
Since coming to SCSU, I’ve worked hard to maintain my academic excellence, earning a 3.9 GPA last year as well as being placed on the Dean’s List both semesters, and I am continuing strong this semester.
Despite all my efforts, I’m currently facing a financial challenge. My parents have been helping as much as they can, but I still have a remaining balance of $3,300 that must be paid by November 17th in order to stay enrolled.
I’ve been actively searching for work, work studies, and scholarships, but so far, I haven’t been successful. I’m doing everything I can to make it through this semester, but I can’t do it alone.
I’m reaching out to ask for any support you can give—whether it’s $1, $5, or more, every contribution helps me get one step closer to continuing my education and fulfilling my purpose.
Your kindness and generosity mean the world to me. Thank you so much for believing in me and helping me continue my journey at South Carolina State University.
