Help Tamer and His Family Leave Gaza and Start Over

Donation protected
Tamer Salim Taher Al-Agha, a 21-year-old from Gaza, had just graduated with a degree in Pharmacy and was on the brink of starting his career and life. But the events of October 7th changed everything. The relentless occupation has stripped him of his dreams, leaving everything he had built in ruins. Despite these overwhelming odds, Tamer’s spirit remained unbroken. He tirelessly worked to raise enough funds to evacuate his family from the devastation.

For months, Tamer networked and made heartfelt videos, reaching out to the world for help. He finally achieved his goal, only to face a heartbreaking setback. The account he used was linked to Belgium, a country that takes 40-50% of the funds in taxes. Imagine surviving a genocide, living in a tent amidst the rubble, and then losing half of the hard-earned funds needed to secure your family's safety. It’s beyond comprehension.

Now, Tamer needs our help to recover these lost funds. He is one of the kindest, most honorable people you could ever meet, always ready to lend a hand to others. Let’s come together to support Tamer in this critical time, ensuring he can rebuild his life once the border opens. Time is of the essence.

This is Tamer's message to the world:

"Despite my feeling of shame, I had to write this letter after great confusion and hesitation I am writing to share our family's story from Gaza. Following recent bombings, our house, which was home to nine individuals, including eight adults and a child, has been completely destroyed. Currently, we are living in Rafah city, residing in a tent without access to basic necessities such as food and water. We are seeking assistance for our family in Gaza. The government has requested US$5000 per person to facilitate our exit through the crossing. While this is a substantial amount, any contribution, regardless of size, would be greatly appreciated. Your generosity and prayers mean a great deal to us during this difficult period. Thank you for keeping all those affected by the conflict in your thoughts. With love, Tamer."

The funds raised will go towards the cost of evacuating Tamer and his family of 8 (names included at the conclusion of this text for transparency). Before the border closure, the cost was $5,000 per adult and $2,500 per child through the Hala travel agency. However, these costs increase based on how quickly evacuation is needed, and the price once the border opens is unknown. Evacuation will occur into Egypt. Any additional funds will go toward the cost of getting established in Egypt and rebuilding Tamer and his family's life.

Please stand in solidarity with Tamer and his family in this urgent time of need. The occupation shows no signs of stopping, and once the border opens, the evacuation will need to be immediate. Your support can make all the difference. May you be blessed beyond measure. Thank you.
