My name is Tamenech Feyisa, and here is my long story in short writing. I am a 39-year-old woman, and I was diagnosed with kidney disease at the age of 21. At 23, when I just started living life, both of my kidneys failed. I have been getting dialysis for the past 15 years. Getting funds to go through each dialysis was very tough. There were several times when I couldn't afford to go to my dialysis appointment and faced a life-or-death situation. But God has sustained me.
Over the years, the access point catheter used for dialysis has been pressing on my body and causing problems. At first, it was placed on my neck, and then when my neck veins couldn't take the treatment anymore, the doctors began to place it in my arm. Eventually, my arms became very weak, and after many failed attempts, I started using my legs. Both of my legs were treated, but their veins closed off, and they were no longer usable. Also, the veins on both sides of my groin were used several times, but they also closed afterward. Now, the doctors gave me this last option to place it on my liver, which is only a temporary measure and is in a sensitive location.
I am also developing other serious health problems, including heart issues and severe pain from rising PTH (parathyroid). Because of these problems, getting a kidney transplant abroad is my last, necessary option to stay alive and regain a healthier life. To undergo a kidney transplant surgery, I have a referral abroad medical board certificate and have obtained the necessary documentation. I also have a matching kidney donor, but I lack the funds required. This is why I am pleading to the public for my life. I opened this GoFundMe to ask for help from the public because I can't afford the money needed for the transplant, travel, and post-operative care.
Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support. Your help could save my life.
