Hi everyone, I recently moved to Illinois in August, and since September I’ve been a full-time student working hard toward my goals. This January, I’m starting a full-time internship that I’m really excited about however, I’ve become in desperate need of a car to get there. I am living outside of the city and everything takes at least 25 minutes to get to, including the train to the city, without any bus routes.

I also work a serving job, but as the newest employee, my hours are very limited and my pay is unreliable. Right now, it’s been hard to save anything, and I don’t want to take on another job because school is my top priority and my time is limited. This is the first time in my life I’ve been able to focus on my education and plan for my future, and I’m trying my best to make it all work. Additionally, a car would support me when I move into the city on my own this spring with grocery trips, moving supply, and self reliability.

I’m hoping to raise $1,500 to help me buy a reliable used car (as well as the money I have been saving myself) so I can get to my internship and continue building stability for myself. My birthday is this month so think of it as a birthday gift! Any support, even resharing, means so much to me.
