Help Our Family Rebuild After Loss and Hardship

Hello, my name is Tamara, and I am reaching out with a heavy heart. My husband and I have two beautiful young children, ages 10 and 6. Life has recently turned upside down for us, and we are struggling to find our footing.

At the end of August, I received a devastating call: my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal small cell lung cancer that had already spread to his lymph nodes, adrenal glands, bones, and later, his brain. His last wish was to remain at home instead of being placed in a facility, so my husband and I did everything we could to be there for him. With the help of a sibling, I was able to travel and spend his final weeks by his side, caring for him around the clock. Those days were exhausting, painful, and beautiful all at once—I will forever cherish that bittersweet time.

Sadly, while I was caring for my dad, life at home began to unravel. I lost my job as a housekeeping contractor. My children’s school system began threatening truancy charges, forcing me to pull them and homeschool during this difficult time. Then, on September 3rd, our family home was foreclosed on and September 9th my father passed away.

Now, my husband and I are packing what we can and preparing to move from North Carolina to Virginia. We don’t have a home of our own to move into yet, and for now, we’ll be staying with family while trying to rebuild. On top of everything, we are facing major truck repairs (a new battery and tires) that have drained what little we had left.

This is not easy for me to share. Asking for help is humbling, but right now, we truly have no other options. We need help covering moving costs, transportation, and basic needs for our children as we start over.

Any donation, no matter the amount, would mean the world to us. If you cannot give, prayers and shares are just as appreciated. We are leaning on faith that brighter days are ahead, and we are so grateful for any kindness during this heartbreaking season.

From the bottom of my heart—thank you, and God bless you.
