On October 21, 2025, my sister Tamara Gay was involved in a horrific big rig truck accident on the 10 Freeway — caused by a driver allegedly under the influence of drugs. Tamara was in the red car that became pinned beneath another truck, in a crash that nearly took her life.
She survived, but her injuries are life-altering: a broken femur, two shattered knees, a ruptured spleen, and many other internal and external traumas.
Tamara is a single mother of four and was just days away from starting a new job as a school bus driver — a fresh start she’d worked hard for.
This crash has devastated her and her children and our family. Tamara now faces a long, uncertain recovery, with no clear timeline for when — or if — she’ll walk again.
We’re raising funds to help cover her mounting medical expenses and basic living costs. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps ease the burden and brings hope to a family fighting through unimaginable pain.
If you feel moved to help, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your compassion and support.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the three individuals who lost their lives in this senseless tragedy, as well as with those who were injured and affected. We extend our heartfelt condolences and offer prayers for strength, comfort, and healing to everyone impacted.
Thank you to the 1st responders at the scene, the bystanders who gave reports to help, and truck driver Edgar Del Toro who comforted Tamara when she was pinned under his truck. A wholehearted THANK YOU to you all.
