Dear neighbors and Friends,

It is with a heavy heart that I write this to reach out for your support. My mother Maria Lopez got kidnapped by ICE yesterday morning October 10,2025 while working. My mom sells tamales every morning on Troy and Cermak to help support our family. She is a mother of 6 kids with the youngest child being 9 years old. She is also a grandmother to 5 children. Our family is so heartbroken. We’re so concerned for her health as she is diabetic and needs insulin everyday. She has a history of dealing with a range of medical needs. Our family is looking into hiring a lawyer that can represent her and fight for her rights. My mother has no criminal record. For those of you that know her, know that she is the type of women that would give you everything that she has without thinking twice to anybody that needs it. Our family will be so grateful if you can contribute to this cause. We’re planning to use all funds to pay a lawyer and attempt to post bond for my mom.
