Talytha and Marcio are a hardworking, kind couple who have become part of our extended family. Marcio works with us as a painter and wallpaper installer, and my husband, a builder, hires him frequently. Their calm presence and generosity have touched everyone who knows them. Now, they are facing a crisis that no family should have to endure.

Yesterday morning, Marcio was taken by ICE after being pulled over on his way to work—a situation that appears to be the result of profiling. With Marcio unable to work, Talytha is left to care for their children on her own, while also facing the daunting costs of attorney’s fees to try to bring her husband home. The timing is especially painful, as it means their children may not be able to spend Christmas with their father.
