Help Talya Save Her Leg

Emergency Surgery Needed For Our 10 Month Old Puppy's Broken Femur. Please Donate Whatever You Can Or Share!

We hope that you and your family are staying safe and doing okay during this rough but merry season.

Unfortunately, it has gotten a little bit rougher for the Rosenbalms.

We're trying to see if there's anything we can do for our puppy: our 10 month old Great Pyrenees/Labrador mix, Talya (TALL-YA), broke the femur in her right hind leg this morning, jumping over a box (we don't even know how it's possible honestly). After taking her to a well known Dallas clinic (a huge thank you to North Carrollton Veterinary Hospital for their kindness and patience with us), they broke the news of what had happened.

While understanding that this year has been tough on all of us, they explained that we had two options: the surgery to fix it, according to one of the only two orthopedic vet hospitals (DVSC) in the entire North Texas region, is $4,500.00..... which we clearly don't have. The only other option aside from euthanasia is amputation of her entire leg.

Our sweet, hyper, snuggly cloud of fluff deserves so much more than a last resort, and while we have some means that helped cover her initial exam, pain medications, and x-rays, job loss has affected our household like many others. We know that whatever happens, we will do everything in our power to make sure our baby gets the care and treatment she needs. Talya is our second puppy, who happily lives alongside our 3 year old dog Hazel and our newly adopted cat Sammy. She loves to run around (think Speedy Gonzalez) in any direction and loves to play with pretty much any pet she meets. She can't go a second without making sure her humans know she's the center of attention and she'll make a lot of noise so you'll know it too! Moreover, we've had her since she was 8 weeks old back in April, and she was our wedding gift puppy (as we had gotten married 3 days before we got her).

Any donation that you could make would allow her to move closer to being able to keep her perfectly healthy leg on her perfectly healthy body! We know that it is in no way, shape or form fair that she would have to suffer the loss of a healthy limb due to this unlikely occurrence. We want nothing more than for her to be safe and happy, and while we would provide that at any rate, we can't jump on the cheaper idea just because it would be easier for us. She's more than just an animal, she's family, and hopefully, that will get her what she needs.

Please be aware that ALL of the funds will go DIRECTLY towards her vet bills, and we are doing what we can to gather funds as well.

Have a blessed day and thank you so much for your help, shares, and whatever you can give.

8 week old Talya, please enjoy her sweetness as much as we do!
