An unexpected diagnosis of leukemia has prompted relatives to organize a fundraiser for Talia Saunders and her family.

 

Talia thought she woke up to a typical day but little did she know that she would be combatting a life-threatening illness.

She is currently at the Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida undergoing treatment.

 

Talia is a 16-year-old high school student at the Government High School in Nassau, Bahamas. Her hobbies include dancing, socializing, reading, and going to the beach. Upon completing high school, she plans to attend college to study elementary education to become a teacher. She is a role model for her four-year-old sister.
