Dear Friends of Stirling Dickinson Escuela de Arte:
First, we remain very grateful for your support as we continue to develop our program, which provides free art instruction for some very talented, young San Miguel artists. The addition of Juan Ignacio Sanchez has been a game-changer for our students. He provides expertise in new areas that is giving our students new options for growth. Juan is so impressive that the Instituto Allende has added him to their Bachelor of Arts faculty.
We are ready to do our fundraising for the 2025-2026 school year. Due to the devaluation of the pesos, our fundraising needs are a bit less than in the past (in terms of U.S. dollars). Our budget calls for needed revenues of $5,000 U.S. This money will allow us to continue paying Juan, buy the needed art supplies, as well as expand the number of students we serve. It is our hope that you will continue to support the students financially, as you have done in the past. Already, we have two gifts of $500 in hand. So, we only need $4,000 more to meet our goal. As in the past, you can use our GoFundMe page to make your donation. If you prefer to give in another way, just let us know and we will make it work.
As part of our fundraising efforts, we invite you to join us for an open house in the school classroom at Instituto Allende. We will gather at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11th. A few of our students will be present as well as a lot of their art on display. If you can let us know you are coming, that would be great. If not, no problem. Just come.
We attach some examples of the work of some of our current students. They and we are so grateful to you for making this free art experience possible for them. We look forward to seeing you on March 11th!
Thank you,
Rick Brunson, John Wimberly, and Juan Ignacio Sanchez
