Send Talented MCAA Students to CSSSA

Hello community -

My name is Honor Giardini, and I'm a senior at Marysville Charter Academy for the Arts. I am a writing department alum of California State Summer Schools for the Arts, a prestigious month long arts education program hosted on CalArts's campus.

I went to CSSSA in 2023 -- and it changed my world. It catalyzed everything I have done since. I left that month with a community of artists - teachers and peers - that I continue to lean on. I have never had a more transformational academic experience.

This year eleven very talented students from MCAA were admitted to CSSSA.

However five of them -- did not receive enough financial aid to be able to attend without additional assistance, assistance CSSSA is unable to provide.

So, we need to raise 20k in about a month. CSSSA is around $5k per student - and every little bit helps.

I know these three need art in the same way I need art - and I do not want something stupid like money to stop them from receiving the kind of support and mentorship they deserve.

So -- we're asking for some help. Let's send these five off to CSSSA and show CalArts what Marysville is made of. ♥️
