Help Tala to follow her dreams

An update from Tala, 5th July 2025:

Welcome, my hope. I'm Tala, I'm 22 years old. I study information technology and work as a freelance journalist in the war. I cover events and have a message. I risk my life, but I don't care about my life as long as the voice of Gaza reaches you. Maybe this message is what's left of me if I don't survive the war. I haven't seen my mother for two years. She and my married sisters are in Ireland. I need you and your help. I received assistance from you in the last period and I have already received it. Thank you for supporting me. I love you all and I hope you don't let me down. At least be a reason for my survival.

Hi, I'm Tala. I've survived the bombs and now I want to achieve my dreams. Can you help me to rebuild my life in Gaza? Can you help me to travel to complete my education? Please don't let me turn into another victim of war.

I'm the middle daughter in my family of 11 people. I am 22 years old and I was on track to graduate with a very high grade in summer 2024. But then my university was bombed and my family was displaced. My mother left Gaza to visit relatives just three days before the bombing started - I haven't seen her since and I miss her terribly. I continued to study during the war and my friends and I organised activities for the younger children to keep them active and help them cope with the trauma. I also started taking photos, reporting and creating online content to help people outside Gaza understand our experience.

But with the ceasefire, I'm thinking about my dreams again. I want to travel, to see my mother, and to complete my education in a safe country. Can you help me?



Practical information

I'm Laura, from Edinburgh in Scotland, and I'm helping my friend Tala, from Deir al-Balah in Gaza. She is raising funds to leave Gaza and continue her studies in a safe country. I will send all donations directly to her Bank of Palestine account.
