Peace be upon you. My name is Tala. I am 18 years old and I live in Gaza. As the oldest, I speak on behalf of myself and my siblings.
We are the family of Mohammed Ellouh, or what is left of it. We are six siblings, four boys and two girls, with no mother or father to care for us. Life here is very difficult. We are living in destruction. Every day we are dying.
On May 16, 2025, the occupation bombed our home, and my mother was martyred while preparing food for us all. It was early in the morning, and my sister and I were right next to her when she died. My brother Oday’s head was injured by shrapnel, and my brother Mohammed was hit in the arm and chest. We didn’t know where to go.
I began yelling for help, but there was nothing anyone could do. My brother couldn’t walk and Israeli shells were still falling around us. There were many martyrs surrounding us, some only in pieces. We carried my mother’s body until we found a car willing to take us to the hospital. There, they told us there was no hope. She was dead.
We became homeless, with nobody to care for us. We left the house with nothing, not even our shoes. We went to my aunt’s home and she took us in. Our father has been in Egypt since 2023. He left for treatment, and is now unable to come back to Gaza.
We have no life here. There is no food. Our house was completely destroyed. We now live in a tent, with insects biting us all the time. At night, while we sleep, the Israeli army continues to bomb us and the nearby tents. The dogs are eating people in the street, and we don’t know where to go.
We wish to be reunited with our father in Egypt. He is all we have left. My mother died, and we were broken after her death. Two of my brothers are still injured, and there is barely any medicine to treat them. No one knows what will happen next, whether we will live or die.
Please, help me and family survive this war. Every bit of support helps, and gives us hope. If you cannot donate, please share this fundraiser. Thank you very much.
EDIT: Since this description was first written, Tala and her siblings have been displaced again, due to heavy bombing in their area. They are still looking for someone to take them in.
